Event attendees are private individuals whose scan behaviour constitutes personal data if IP addresses are logged. With Qrius, booth and session QR analytics are aggregated and anonymous — giving sponsors real engagement data without GDPR liability.

Qrius never stores raw IP addresses, sets no cookies on scan, and keeps all data on EU servers in Stockholm, Sweden. Full GDPR Article 28 DPA available on paid plans.

Can event sponsors get QR scan analytics without GDPR issues?

Yes. Qrius provides scan counts, device types, and time-of-day trends — all without logging IP addresses. Sponsors get meaningful engagement metrics, and you avoid creating a GDPR liability by passing personal data to third-party sponsors.

Can I update session links if speakers cancel or rooms change?

Yes. Dynamic QR codes let you update the destination in real time from your dashboard. Print the codes before the event and adjust links on the day if the schedule changes.

Do attendees need to consent to scanning a QR code at an event?

Scanning a URL QR code is equivalent to typing a URL into a browser — no consent is required for the act of scanning. With Qrius, no personal data is collected in the scan process (no IP, no cookies), so there is nothing that requires a consent mechanism.

How many QR codes can I create for a large conference?

Our Business plan supports unlimited QR codes. For multi-day conferences with hundreds of sessions and sponsor booths, we recommend Business or Enterprise. Contact us for volume pricing.

Your visitors' IP addresses are never stored. On each scan we run a geo-lookup, then immediately hash the IP with HMAC-SHA256 and a daily rotating salt. The original address is discarded. No cookies. No fingerprinting. All data stays on EU servers in Stockholm, Sweden.
